Restricted Items

A list of things we can't ship.

These items cannot be shipped due to laws, carrier restrictions, and/or Helena Express policies.

• Guns or ammunition
• Explosives or gasoline
• Toxic or flammable glues or solvents
• Hand sanitizer
• Marijuana or CBD
• Nail polish
• Perfumes containing alcohol
• Aerosols, such as spray paint or propane
• Matches
• Alcohol
• Dry ice
• Tobacco, cigarettes, or cigars
• Medicines and prescription drugs
• Paint, if flammable or combustible (latex/water-based paint okay)
• Lithium batteries (except those installed in laptops, phones, etc)
• Poison
• Threats, hate mail, libel, or fraudulent statements
• Incorrect or incomplete customs declaration
• Improperly packaged items or damaged box

The items below can only be shipped with advance notice and approval.

• Cremated remains
• Live animals, perishable items, animal remains (see USPS Publication 52 for restrictions)

The items below can be transported by the Helena Express local courier service. Our couriers have the right to refuse any item that they don’t feel safe transporting, or any item that will likely damage their vehicle (such as a leaking can of paint).

• Batteries, if undamaged

Please note that shipping a restricted item may cause your package to be delayed, damaged, searched, confiscated, or destroyed. People could get hurt or killed. You could also face criminal or civil penalties.
