About Helena Express
Helena Express is a business started in late 2020 by local entrepeneur Skylar Ittner. Skylar saw the long lines at the post office and was inspired to bring tech innovation to the retail shipping space. Two years later, and Helena Express has grown into a flexible mobile business offering home pickups, drop boxes, and most recently the Mobile Shipping Center, a custom vending trailer for postage and shipping supplies.
Using a specially outfitted car, Helena Express picks up packages from homes and businesses, adds postage labels, and ships the items. Customers simply use the Helena Express app to request a pickup, and payment is also handled via the app. "You can send a package without even being home," explains Skylar. "We compare prices from USPS, FedEx, and UPS, then charge your saved card for the best price. You get an email receipt with tracking and other info."
The Helena Express drop boxes work similarly to house pickups. Customers simply put their package in the box and scan a QR code to request a pickup. Packages left before 4 PM are processed and shipped the same day.
Mobile Shipping Center
Launched in fall 2022, the Helena Express Mobile Shipping Center is a specialized trailer outfitted with printers, scales, boxes, envelopes, and other shipping resources. It roams the Helena area, giving customers a convenient alternative to standing in line at the post office. "We offer almost all postal services, including First Class, Priority Mail, Certified Mail, and stamps," says owner Skylar Ittner. "We actually carry a larger selection of free Priority Mail boxes and envelopes than the Helena Post Office." It doesn't stop there though. Customers can also purchase greeting cards and browse an eco-friendly selection of quality boxes and compostable envelopes.
The Mobile Shipping Center is part of the United States Postal Service Approved Shipper program, which requires packages are kept secure and handled correctly.
